Camping & Caravanning PDF Print E-mail

We have set aside about 1 ½ acres of our meadow for camping and caravanning and we are registered as a Five Van Certificate Site with the Camping and Caravanning Club. You will find more details in their Big Sites Book. However, because of our limitation to five vans it is advisable to contact us before visiting to ensure we can accommodate you. The only limit on tents is the space available.

The Campsite is open from Easter until the last weekend in September. As the site is liable to flooding in winter, these dates may need to be changed at short notice. Another good reason to phone before you come.

This map shows a plan of the site, please note that camping is now in the First Paddock, not as in previous years. On arrival you should be able to park in the waiting area just inside the first gateway. You should then report to the house before going onto the meadow.

PLEASE CLOSE ALL GATES TO KEEP ANIMALS AND CHICKENS IN.

You will see the Chemical Toilet Disposal Point, Refuse Bins and Fresh Water Tap in the wood clad building adjacent to this waiting area.

There are two gates to pass through to get to the Camping Paddock, which is now the first paddock on the map above. There may or may not be  Geese and Chickens which have to be negotiated in the paddock. You will be allowed to park next to your tent or caravan. Again, ALWAYS remember to shut ALL gates as soon as you have passed through them.

In line with our ethos, we try to re-use or recycle as much as possible. The bins are clearly marked for collection by our council; green bins for recyclable material "glass, paper, metal, plastic (all mixed together), black bin for all other material except composable material, dustbin marked "Compost" for Biodegradable material. Please try to help us with these environment measures. In addition, the water you use for your Chemical Toilets is usually Rain Water collected from the house, garage and shed roof. We also use this water for the animals.

The Fresh water tap is easily accessible but well isolated from the waste disposal facilities. In addition there is a toilet and shower room for your use at the House. There is no extra charge for the shower.

Do look at our Farm Shop pages as we can supply an assortment of food and gift items Also Brigid's Kitchen Tea Rooms can provide teas most days during the summer season, and the Labyrinth is available for you to wander through. We occassionally have special events when the facilities will have limited public access.
